Gembrook Hill is a family owned property run by the Marks family since 1983 and located in the hills of the upper Yarra Valley.

While the wine was very light in the glass, I needn’t have worried, as this is apparently a typical characteristic of the Gembrook Hill Pinot Noir. What it lacks in colour it makes up for in depth and character. Think forest floor, fresh red cherries and stewed rhubarb that adds a touch of tartness to the finish. The palate has plenty of fruit at the fore blended in with supple texture, an earthy tone to the finish and slippery tannins to close.

This Pinot Noir from Gembrook Hill is a splash out option for anyone interested in this noble grape variety, but it is certainly one worth seeking out on your journey towards becoming a true Pinotphile.
